Job Stories From Urbandale, IA
Bowing walls in Urbandale, IA

These homeowners noticed staircase cracks and bowing walls in their home. They took awhile to have the problem fixed so it got worse on the same spot but also around the whole house. They had Midwest Basement Systems come and take a look at the problem and told them what we could do. The homeowners were very pleased that it wasn't a lot of work and it could get done in one day. They signed the contract and had Matt and his crew come out and do the work.

I live in a split level home and am remodeling a room that is approximately 400 sqft. It is on the ground level of the home and the floor is made of concrete. It has cracked and part of it has settled leaving it unlevel. I would like to install a vinyl laminate floor however i need it leveled out. Not sure if mudjacking or using leveler is the better option. Looking for some professional expertise to complete.

Front walkway has an area that needs to be leveled as requested by buyer during home inspection
in Urbandale
The front step is sinking. The back step is sinking. The patio is draining towards the house. Some of the sidewalks have trip hazards.
in Urbandale
Front step and walk need to be raised.
in Urbandale
There is a spot in our basement where the bottom piece of siding on the outside rotted away and allowed water into the basement. When the dry wall was removed we discovered one of the frame beams has rotted away at the bottom so we are looking to have that frame repaired and see if the other beams next to it have any damaged as well.
Urbandale Ave in Urbandale
I have had driveway modification done and now notice more cracks, uneven sections in the driveway and very uneven settling in patio behind house. I'm concerned it will make snow removal difficult and there is puddling and mud settling in the driveway.
in Urbandale
Water seepage along an 8" line on a basement floor expansion cut. We are also looking at having a second sump pump installed.
Horton Ave in Urbandale
The City of Urbandale has informed us we need to have one panel/section of our sidewalk leveled out. I'm hoping to get a quote for that. Also, we sometimes get water seeping under the back door to our basement and would like to get a quote on waterproofing that.
Goodman Circle in Urbandale
Would like sump pump battery backup. Also some of the drainage tile is silted up.
Benton Dr in Urbandale
Some disconnected brick foundation under our front entry/porch area. Had some water seep in during recent heavy rains. Not a significant issue, but one we'd like to get inspected to provide insights and a quote on how best to remedy. May also contribute to our on-going slightly elevated radon levels, despite remediation of other items (including some nice work MWBS did when we first moved in over 15 years ago).
in Urbandale
After the heavy rains last Saturday, we had water come into a basement bedroom. It is the second time in 13 years that it has happened. I would like to find out if there are any ways to help prevent in the future
in Urbandale
There is a large amount of water/moisture between the insulation and the plastic sheet on one of the basement walls. Also, every time it rains hard, we get a small puddle of water by the basement door. Also looking into having a battery backup for our sump pump.
Hammontree Dr in Urbandale
Front steps and landing have sunk toward each other and top of stairs pulled away from the porch.
in Urbandale
Sunken slab of concrete on east side of house (between house and garage); needs to be raised or replaced. Does raising affect foundation? Also interested in determining viability and costs for a interior drain system with installation of a sump pump. During recent storm appears groundwater intrustion came from floor / wall joint and/or cracks in basement floor.
in Urbandale
We have a one-room basement area (used to be a wine cellar) that had water almost up to the ceiling in the recent flash flooding. It was finished at one point, so it has electric down there, though little else. We use it for storage, and while a little bit of water in heavy rains may be acceptable, we do not get 6+ feet of water in there again.
