Job Stories From Carlisle, IA
Water Prevention for a Carlisle Basement

Dean was talking to his neighbors about having water in their basements and Dean wanted to prevent that in his home. As soon as he got inside, he called Midwest Basement Systems. We went out to his house and explained to him the process basement waterproofing - Dean decided this is how he wanted to protect his home.

We started by installing a WaterGuard drainage system. WaterGuard is a piping system that goes all the way around the perimeter of the basement to prevent water from flooding the space. WaterGuard sits on top of the footing, instead of alongside the footing. This is important to know because the mud can't get into the drain and clog it. WaterGuard will help to keep Dean's basement dry for many years to come!

There are cracks in the walls and ceilings Where everything is shifting north. Which is where the dirt is disappearing. It has been repaired once but failed and the company had gone out of business before it failed. The back door used to open before winter and now its stuck. The front sliding door doesn't close all the way. There is a 2-3 inch gap on the bottom of the living room/kitchen wall where its separating. I can feel the slant in the kitchen. I'm extremely concerned. I have 3 children ages 3 years to 2 months old and really need to know if its even safe to live here. Thanks

We have a half basement with the other half be a crawl space. The basement is full of water 6-8' deep. We pumped it down to about 12-18" yesterday and it filled right back up overnight with all the rain again last night. We live at Avon Lake just north of Carlisle and we have very sandy soil. We need someone to come out and give us a estimate and suggestions on repairs. We are at a loss on what to do at this point. Thank you!
